Positions currently available:

Office Assistant

MCHD is seeking a temporary long-term, part-time Office Assistant 3 days/week for approximately 6-12 months to begin immediately.  Our candidate should be personable, outgoing, service oriented, a team player, and the possess the ability to function in a fast-paced environment with the following required skills: publishing, database management, Microsoft Office & Google Suite, records keeping, basic office machines and technology, communications, and organizational/time management.

Hours:  8am-3pm, Monday/Tuesday/Friday (June/July) and 8am-4pm, Monday/Tuesday/Friday (August to end of position)

Desired background/skills:  BA, 3-5 years work related experience,  IT operating systems, marketing and development experience a plus.

Lower Elementary Assistant Teacher

MCHD is seeking an Assistant Teacher for our Lower Elementary program with students aged 6-9 years old. Experience in a Montessori classroom is preferred, but candidates able to learn Montessori methods are encouraged to apply. Training will be provided. A bachelor’s degree is preferred. This is a part-time position of 28 hours per week mid-August 2017 to June 1, 2018.  This position may grow into a full-time position in the future.  Class size is up to 22 children, with additional support from Art, Reading, and Spanish Specialists. A background check is required.

Spanish Teacher

Plan and implement small group Spanish instruction for children grades 1-6, using a combination of our established curriculum and innovations by the  teacher, coordinating as needed with curriculum in students’ base classroom. Meet with each small group weekly. Prepare a short report on student progress twice yearly for parents and occasional short pieces for the school newsletter.  Position is 18 hours per week, with hours in the morning and/or early afternoon. School year runs August 21, 2017 to June 1, 2018. Planning time allowed weekly.

Only applicants with prior teaching experience will be considered, preferably in a Montessori setting. Initiative and good organizational skills are a must. Criminal and reference checks required.

Lunch Supervisor

  • Have lunch with Elementary aged children and supervise their playtime…outside!
  • Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday / Hours: 12 noon – 1:00pm; and Wednesday: 12 noon – 1:30pm.
  • Position runs through early June 2017.  Training provided. Must be reliable, punctual, and willing to learn Montessori practices. Pay rate is based on experience. Criminal check and references required.

 

Before School Care Supervisor

  • Start your day on the playground! Supervise children before the school day begins.
  • Days: Monday – Friday / Hours: 7:45 – 8:45 am.
  • Position runs through early June 2017.  Training provided. Must be reliable, punctual, and willing to learn Montessori practices. Pay rate is based on experience. Criminal check and references required.

 

Substitute Teachers

  • Hours vary depending on Lead and Assistant Teachers’ needs; hours will be plentiful for Substitutes who are able and willing to jump in!
  • Applicants must be punctual, reliable, professional , and nurturing. Previous experience in a Montessori practices setting is preferred, but not required, and applicant must be open to learning more of the philosophy (training will be provided). Pay rate is based on experience. Criminal check and references required.
